Affirming Two Myths Debunked About Heart Health

According to an article, kicking bad habits can reverse heart disease.  A New study has apparently confirmed this and has been published in the journal Circulation.  Two myths have arose over the years about this particular subject and they apparently are not true at all.

Myth #1

"It's nearly impossible to change a patients behavior."  That's just not true.  In fact, many people over the years adjust and make healthy living choices on their own.  This is a great stride towards a healthier tomorrow.

With the right education and the right desire, patients can indeed make strides towards a healthier being.  It's a matter of finding the right inspiration.  What inspires one person, may not inspire another.

Myth #2

"The damage has already been done."  Again, this simply isn't true.  Damage to the Heart can take time and is different for many individuals.  Many people don't stop to think that much of the damage done to the body can in fact be reversed.

The Brain is a common example.  According to Dr. Perlmutter, the author of Grain Brain, changing your diet can in fact reverse much of the damage done to the Brain.  On top of that, you can often reverse and prevent Alzheimers just by a few changes in your diet.  Think of it as a lifestyle change, not dietary guideline.

Conclusion

It's never too late to change your lifestyle and get healthier.  Even when you've got six months to live, time and time again, patients have found ways to overcome their Cancer and get better.  Defeat is not an option, take control of your health today.

Question - What are some things you can do today to start making healthier living choices?

  1. I started a 30 min brisk walk yesterday during my lunch hour and did the same today. I feel so good about it, I want to go again. :) That is one of my healthier living choices.
